The NBA and NBPA have added updates to COVID-19 protocols regarding fully-vaccinated individuals, according to Shams Charania.

The updates are as follows:

  • Rideshares and taxis allowed
  • No face shields in treatment sessions
  • On teams where 85% of players and staff vaccinated: hot/cold tubs and steam rooms permitted for multiple people

This is the latest set of updates after the NBA and NBPA first started loosening health and safety protocols for those who are fully vaccinated back in March.

The NBA, in accordance with CDC guidelines, considers someone fully vaccinated 14 days after their final vaccine dose.

As of late April, commissioner Adam Silver said over 70 percent of NBA players had received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and that most were either fully protected or on track.
