Frank Vogel on Ben McLemore: “I’m very confident of what he brings to the table”

The Los Angeles Lakers newcomer Ben McLemore fouled CJ McCollum with 27 seconds left to play in a game against the Portland Trail Blazers when his team had a three-point deficit (99-102).

McCollum converted both of his free-throws to increase Portland’s lead to five points and eventually the Blazers took the win 101-106.

This play by McLemore prompted a question from the media to the Lakers head coach Frank Vogel whether the 28-year-old guard needs to improve to be a playoff rotation player.

“I’m very confident of what he brings to the table,” Vogel said. “He’s either making shots or bringing the defense with him because he carries that thread. He brings that gravity to the floor. We’re confident what he brings to our team.”
