Philadelphia 76ers head coach Doc Rivers thinks Joel Embiid has the chance to win the MVP award despite missing 10 straight games after a knee injury early in March.

Several pundits around the league believe Nikola Jokic has the award in his bag, however Rivers thinks otherwise talking on his superstar center chances.

Rivers is certainly trying to earn votes for Embiid, however, before his knee injury, Embiid was the favorite to win it over Jokic.

The Sixers are the first seed in the East with a 45-21 record, thanks to Embiid’s incredible year. The Nuggets are fourth in the West with a 44-22 record.

As a result, the award could be gone to a player based solely on stats and number games. So, Jokic is definitely the more durable among the candidates this season.
