FC Barcelona reportedly in advanced talks with Zalgiris’ Rokas Jakubaitis

FC Barcelona is in advanced talks with Zalgiris Kaunas guard Rokas Jakubaitis, according to Donatas Urbonas. Per the report, the Lithuanian player has not made a decision yet.

Jakubaitis is expected to replace Leandro Bolmaro for the Catalans as the forward from Argentina is expected to join the Minnesota Timberwolves next season.

As Urbonas reports, Jakubaitis has a release clause in his contract with Zalgiris. The promising guard has been with Zalgiris since the beginning of his career.

He made his debut with the club’s first team in 2018. Since then, he played 53 EuroLeague games in three seasons having career averages of 5.1 points, 1.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists.

This year, the promising guard experienced his best season of his career shooting almost 48 percent from the field and 39 percent from deep in 31 EuroLeague games as he averaged a career-best seven points per contest.
