Jason Kidd, former NBA champion and current assistant coach of the Los Angeles Lakers, is among potential candidates to replace the Portland Trail Blazers head coach Terry Scotts if he gets fired, per Shams Charania and Sam Amick of The Athletic.

After serving as a head coach for the Milwaukee Bucks and the Brooklyn Nets for five seasons, Kidd joined the Lakers as an assistant coach in 2019.

The list of potential candidates also includes Nate McMillan (Atlanta Hawks interim coach), Dave Joerger (Philadelphia 76ers assistant coach), Chauncey Billups (Los Angeles Clippers assistant coach) and Brent Barry (San Antonio Spurs Vice President of Basketball Operations).

Portland is currently in the seventh place in the Western Conference and could make the playoffs this season.
