Anthony Davis has been singled out as a key to the Los Angeles Lakers chances of repeating as the NBA champions this season. However, he is not performing at the level that he did last year, says sports analyst Brandon Marshall.

He brought up AD’s numbers from last year’s bubble and compared to those of this season. The 28-year-old forward is averaging less points 21.4 vs. 27.7 in the bubble, his field goal percentage dropped from 57.1 to 50.3.

In addition, Davis is making less three-pointers (26.5 percent vs. 38.3 percent in the bubble) and free-throws (72 percent vs. 83.2 percent in the bubble).

“All of this comes down to Anthony Davis. … He is not in a slump. You can have a bad game or a bad play, but you can’t have a bad season. And AD is having a bad season,” Marshall said on First Things First.
