Lakers’ Dennis Schroder out due to health and safety protocols

Los Angeles Lakers guard Dennis Schroder has entered the NBA’s health and safety protocols and will miss the team’s game against the Toronto Raptors tonight.

It’s unclear why the 27-year-old is in the protocols or how long he will be out, but he will also likely miss the team’s next game on May 3 against the Denver Nuggets.

This is the second time this season that Schroder has been in the league’s health and safety protocols, as he missed four games back in February, but he never actually tested positive for COVID-19.

It’s another tough blow for the Lakers, as they just got LeBron James and Anthony Davis back from injury.

The Lakers are looking to gain some momentum before playoffs begin, as they currently sit in 6th place in the Western Conference at 36-27, one game ahead of the 7th seeded Portland Trail Blazers, who are the first play-in spot.

In 59 games, Schroder is averaging 15.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 1.2 steals per game, while shooting 43.8 percent from the field and 33.5 percent from three-point.
