Toronto Raptors are expected to be undermanned on Sunday’s contest against the Los Angeles Lakers. Nick Nurse will not have four players available in a crucial matchup for the team.

The team announced (hat tip to Sportnet.ca) that VanVleet, who has been dealing with a left hip injury, will be out for recovery purposes. VanVleet had 30 points, six rebounds and seven assists in Toronto’s latest matchup vs. Utah Saturday.

Meanwhile, Chris Boucher (left knee sprain), Gary Trent Jr. (left leg contusion) and Paul Watson (left knee tendinitis) will remain sidelined.

The Raptors are hoping to keep their postseason chances alive as they are trying to get in the play-in tournament spots with eight games remaining for the end of the regular season.
