Jayson Tatum scores career-high 60 points as Celtics erase 32-point deficit to beat Spurs

Jayson Tatum is in rare company.

Jayson Tatum scored a career-high 60 points to help the Boston Celtics overturn a 32-point regulation deficit to beat the San Antonio Spurs 143-140 in overtime on Friday night. Tatum scored 21 points in the fourth quarter and 10 in overtime, tying Larry Bird’s Celtics record for most points scored in a single game.

No other Celtic scored more than 17 points on the night but Jaylen Brown hit the go-ahead three with 16.7 seconds left in overtime to seal the deal.

Friday’s win was a massive one for Boston as they’re tied with the Atlanta Hawks at 34-30 in the Eastern Conference and remain half a game ahead of the Miami Heat in sixth place.
