Nuggets to sign Austin Rivers for rest of season

The Denver Nuggets are planning to sign guard Austin Rivers for the rest of the season, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.

In five games with the team on a 10-day contract, Rivers, 28, is averaging 5.2 points, 2.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.0 steal per game in 24.2 minutes per game.

The Nuggets lost guard Jamal Murray for the year with a torn ACL and are also now playing without Will Barton who has a right hamstring strain.

The Nuggets have played well lately, as they are 7-1 in eight games since Murray got hurt.

By keeping Rivers, the Nuggets will have a full 17-man roster.
