Boston Celtics dynamic combo-guard Marcus Smart received a one-game suspension for threatening language towards the officials, the NBA announced on Wednesday.
Smart received a technical foul during the fourth quarter of the game vs. the Thunder Monday. According to Keith Smith of Celtics Blog, Smart appeared ‘to have several long and heated discussions with the officials throughout the game.”
The Celtics are entering Wednesday’s matchup vs. the Hornets in hope of returning to their winning ways after loss to the lowly Oklahoma City Thunder.
Smart will sit out the game vs. Charlotte tonight as the Celtics are entering a crucial game being sixth in the Eastern Conference standings with a 32-30 record.
