Lonzo Ball not an ‘impactful defender’ according to NBA scout

Lonzo Ball has made great strides on the offensive end, adding more ‘weapons’ to his arsenal, however his defensive ability has regressed according to an NBA scout, via Sam Amick and John Hollinger of The Athletic.

“He’s just not an impactful defender [right now],” the scout told Amick and Hollinger (hat tip to Bleacher Report). Several rumors suggested that the Pelicans could trade Ball as he will be a free agent in the offseason.

The last few months, several teams reportedly showed interest in Ball including the Chicago Bulls, the Los Angeles Clippers and the New York Knicks. Ball will be a restricted free agent this summer.

He is averaging a career-high 14.1 points per game, with his 42.2 percent in FG% and 38.1 three-point percentage being also career-bests.
