“You have to start with Kareem [Abdul-Jabbar], Kobe [Bryant], and LeBron [James]. Magic [Johnson], yes of course, Magic. He might have to be No. 1. Does Phil [Jackson] count as a Laker? Yes? Then definitely Phil.”

Buss certainly did not include several important names for her Lakers’ all-time list including Shaquille O’Neal, Jerry West, Wilt Chamberlain and Elgin Baylor.

However, it’s tough to include everyone especially with Buss not be able to see Chamberlain, West and Baylor playing in real-time.

At the same time, Shaq is lacking in the longevity aspect with the LA franchise, however West impact as a player and executive later was huge for the Lakers.
