Utah Jazz became the first team to secure a place in the 2021 postseason, after the Portland Trail Blazers loss to the Memphis Grizzlies Sunday.

The Jazz have an NBA-best 44-16 record this season, which includes a 26-4 home record. Utah has improved significantly since last season’s first round exit in a hard-fought seven-game series vs. the Nuggets by matching their previous win total in 12 fewer games.

The Jazz sit only two games up on the Phoenix Suns and the Los Angeles Clippers for the top spot in the West. Donovan Mitchell is the driving force for Quin Snyder’s team this season having a career-year in Utah.

The two-time All-Star is averaging 24.6 points per game along with 5.2 assists and 4.4 rebounds, all career highs. After a surprising loss to Minnesota Saturday, the Jazz will look to claim one over the league-worst, record-wise, T-Wolves on Monday night.
