Indiana’s Edmond Sumner has career game, receives praise from Nate Bjorkgren

2017 late second-round pick Edmond Sumner is playing extremely productive basketball in short minutes for Indiana, shooting 52.6% from the field in 15.5 MPG. Despite not getting many minutes during his young career, Sumner has clearly learned a lot of basketball knowledge since being with the Pacers for four seasons. The 25-year-old is a known athlete who always runs the floor hard, but has now expanded his game and shoots the ball 40.3% from three. Pacers coach Nate Bjorkgren discussed Sumner’s smooth feel for the game after his 22 point night against Detroit.

(Via Bally Sports Indiana):

“He does a really good job of running to his spots and flying down the floor, and then our point guards throw it ahead to him to get some of those. He does a good job of spacing himself to be in the vision of the passer. If the postman has it down there, Ed does a good job of sliding a step or two to get in the vision to create a window, and Edmond knocked them down. He spends a lot of time on his shooting.”
