Anthony Davis wants the Los Angeles Lakers to avoid the play-in tournament as the team is heading towards the final games of the 2020/21 regular season campaign.

The Lakers’ superstar believes his team should control its own destiny and avoid a 7-10 seeding in the Western Conference.

(via Silver Screen and Roll):

“We know at the end of the day when everyone is healthy we’re a tough team to beat. And no matter where we fall in the playoffs, we’re going to come out and I think we’ll be a challenge for anybody. That’s how I look at it big picture,” Davis said.

“We still want to make sure that we control our own destiny and be able to make the playoffs 1-6, and not fall to that 7-10 range.”

Anthony Davis and LeBron James went down with injuries with the Lakers being among the top-3 teams in the Conference having a real chance at the no.1 seed.

Now, the Lakers are just 2.5 games ahead of the sixth-seeded Dallas Mavericks and three games back from the seven-seeded Portland Trail Blazers. Frank Vogel’s team has 35-24 best for fifth in the West.
