Kentavious Caldwell-Pope had a season-high 29 points for the Los Angeles Lakers in a loss to the Dallas Mavericks as he continued a stretch of games where he had strong offensive nights.

The 28-year-old shooting guard is averaging 13.9 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists over the last 11 games which is significantly higher than his season average of 9.3 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game. In April, he had 3 games with 25 or more points.

Lakers head coach Frank Vogel is enjoying KCP’s performances. “We already talked about Dennis [Schroder] and KCP has been playing this way for a few weeks now. I love it. I’m super excited what he’s done over the last few weeks.

“I think that’s something that can carry over when we’re whole with Bron [LeBron James], AD [Anthony Davis] and Drum [Andre Drummond] out there. I think we’re going to be a tough team to beat if you get that type of performance from Dennis and KCP. So really encouraging signs for both of those guys.”
