Nike’s shoe deal with Kobe Bryant came to an end on April 13 with negotiation between the Bryant’s estate and the company seemingly stalling.

However, the shoe company acknowledged the impact Bryant had during his time with Nike. The deal came to an end in the five-year anniversary of Bryant’s last NBA game.

“Kobe Bryant was an important part of Nike’s deep connection to consumers. He pushed us and made everyone around him better. Though our contractual relationship has ended, he remains a deeply loved member of the Nike family.”

The partnership with Nike spans back to 2003 after his first deal with Adidas ended, being one of the longest-running sneaker lines in basketball.

Still, it seems unclear if Bryant’s estate will pursue a deal with another company.
