Philadelphia 76ers coach Doc Rivers shared an optimistic update on George Hill’s status. The veteran has been sidelined with a thumb injury before his arrival in Philadelphia.

Hill joined the Sixers at trade deadline as he was traded by the OKC Thunder. Rivers did not specify a date for Hill’s comeback, however he’s optimistic that he will have him available next week.

“I would say sometime next week would be optimistic, I guess. But I’m optimistic, so I’m going to go with that,” said Rivers, per Sports Illustrated.

With just a handful of games remaining in the regular season, the Sixers will need to insert the veteran guard in the rotation to get acclimated with Doc Rives’ playbook.
