Denver Nuggets are hoping to add Austin Rivers to their roster the next few days, as both sides are in ‘serious talks’ per Shams Charania of the Athletic.

The Nuggets are expected to sign a guard, especially after Jamal Murray’s serious injury that will keep him out for the rest of the season.

Rivers is currently in Denver and is expected to sign within the next few days, according to the Nuggets’ beat writer Mike Singer of the Denver Post. It will likely be a 10-day contract, Singer adds.

Rivers started the season in Knicks uniform, but he couldn’t establish himself in Tom Thibodeau’s rotation. He averaged 7.3 points and 2.0 assists in 21 games with the NY franchise.

He was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder at the March trade deadline, and he was waived a few days later. If he signs a deal with Denver, Rivers will be eligible to play in the postseason.
