Alex Caruso made a big play in a game against the Charlotte Hornets as he drained a dagger three-pointer towards the end of the fourth quarter.

The Los Angeles Lakers were up by a single point with 52 seconds left to play, as the point guard made the shot to increase his team’s lead to four points.

Caruso finished the game with 13 points, 2 rebounds and 6 assists and was the third top scorer for the Lakers.

In the end, the reigning NBA champions won the game 101-93. After the game head coach Frank Vogel called Caruso the star of the game and praised his performance.

“Of course [I enjoyed Caruso’s three-pointer] for a lot of reasons obviously,” said Vogel. “It was a big shot for us. to seal the game. He did so much dirty work for us it’s ridiculous. He’s able to contribute offensively the way he did tonight it felt good for everyone. Everybody’s happy for him.

“Even though he hit that big three, to me the biggest play of the game was a containment play on Graham where he kind of cut him off one way Graham misdirected and tried to get three off and Alex came back and double-hand contested that one as well. Just a great two-way performance by him. He’s definitely the star of the game tonight.”
