Vincent Poirier is the latest addition in Real Madrid squad and made his first comments as a member of the EuroLeague and ACB giant.

Poirier hopes to win many trophies with the Spanish club, which had a huge collection of EuroLeague and ACB trophies in its rich history.

“I’m so excited to be here. Real Madrid is a great team, one of the most iconic teams in European basketball, so I’m delighted to be here. I can’t wait to get back out there and share experiences with my teammates out on the court, whilst I enjoy playing basketball,” the veteran center said, per Real Madrid.

Then, the Frenchman talked on his goals as he signed a deal, which will keep him in Madrid for four seasons.

“I’m aiming to perform better than I did in my first stint in the EuroLeague, but right now I’m not the most important thing, the team is. I’ve just come back from the NBA, so all I want to do now is contribute to the team and not think about me. When you join a club like Real Madrid, individual players don’t matter,” Poirier said.

Poirier spent the last two seasons in Boston and Philadelphia being a deep-end bench option. The former leading rebounder in EuroLeague with Baskonia will relish the chance to get more playtime in Madrid.
