The Los Angeles Lakers once again struggled with turnovers in their loss to the New York Knicks as turned the ball over 24 times. Head coach Frank Vogel pointed at the issue in his postgame press conference. The reigning NBA champions are the worst team in the NBA in that regard with 15.9 turnovers per game.
According to Markieff Morris, the reason why the Lakers are turning the ball over so much is that different players are tasked with bringing the ball up.
“We’ve been dealing with a lot of ups and downs this season, man,” he said. “Some games Dennis might be the primary ball handlers, some games AC, some games we need KCP to make plays.
“It’s just goes all the way around. We all as a collective group have to be better at taking care of the ball. Obviously, we don’t have Bron, he led the league in assists last year, to make plays for us. That’s going to be more magnified. I think if we could change that, we could be a lot better right now.”
