Kevin Durant after Nets lose to Lakers: “They’re the champs. You got to respect it”

Despite missing several players, including two superstars in LeBron James and Anthony Davis, the Los Angeles Lakers were able to earn a big win over the Brooklyn Nets that were without James Harden.

After the game, Brooklyn’s superstar Kevin Durant said the reigning NBA champions came out more motivated and gave his team an early punch and then they found their shots.

“They just played with more urgency to start the game,” Durant said postgame. “They hit us in the mouth early, and that was fighting uphill all game. And then they got hot.

“You come in a game, guys who haven’t played as much get more opportunities and playing free. And they came out and hit us in the mouth. They’re the champs. You got to respect it.”

Durant was the top scorer for the Nets with 22 points in 24 minutes. He also added 7 rebounds and 5 assists.
