Erik Spoelstra’s response on Victor Oladipo playing again this season with the Heat

Miami Heat newly acquired guard Victor Oladipo played just four games before suffering a knee injury during the game vs. the Los Angeles Lakers Thursday.

It’s still unclear how much time Oladipo will miss, as he is considered out of the Heat’s four-game road trip this week. Oladipo went through an X-ray that came back negative after he left the floor Thursday.

He had an MRI Friday to determine the seriousness of the injury, however he is expected to see a specialist to finalize the timetable of his return.

Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra deflected the question when asked if the guard will be back this season, per Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald:

Spoelstra, following the team’s practice in Portland, said he had no update on Oladipo and that the Heat is still in the “information gathering stage right now. I don’t have a new update. He’s not with us on this trip and he won’t be with us [Sunday]. I don’t have any new information.”

Oladipo began the season with the Pacers before being traded to Houston as part of the James Harden deal, and then, being shipped again by the Rockets at trade deadline.
