Cavaliers sign Mfiondu Kabengele to 10-day contract

The Cleveland Cavaliers are signing big man Mfiondu Kabengele to a 10-day contract, according to Shams Charania.

The signing will officially take place on April 10, notes Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com.

The Cavaliers have open roster spots, so they won’t need to release another player before adding Kabengele.

Kabengele played 23 games for the Los Angeles Clippers this season before being traded to the Sacramento Kings on March 22.

The Kings then waived him three days later.

The 23-year-old has only played 35 games so far in his two-year NBA career, averaging just 4.5 minutes per game.

Kabengele likely won’t see the floor much even with the Cavaliers missing starting center Jarrett Allen, as Isaiah Hartenstein has played well since joining the Cavaliers at the trade deadline, averaging 10.0 points, 9.6 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.2 blocks per game.
