Andre Drummond was one of the key players for the Los Angeles Lakers in a loss to the Miami Heat as he had a double-double of 15 points and 12 rebounds in 27 minutes of play.

It was the first real game as a Laker for the 27-year-old center who played just 14 minutes due to a torn toenail in his debut against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Head coach Frank Vogel was happy with Drummond’s performance in Miami as talked about it postgame. “Drummond’s been great,” he said. “He competed. He does what he does, 15 and 12 in 26 minutes, 4 offensive boards. Great screener, active hands defensively.

“Obviously, it’s game one, there’s a lot to learn still within our system on both sides of the ball learning his teammates. But a good sort of first game I guess it’s technically second game but first full game.”
