DeMarcus Cousins made his debut for the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday night’s win over the Portland Trail Blazers. Cousins signed a 10-day contract with the team on Monday.

The veteran big put up seven points, four rebounds and two assists in seven minutes during the Clippers’ 133-116 blowout win over the Portland Trail Blazers at Staples Center.

“I’ve put an incredible amount of work to get to this place,” Cousins said. “I feel great, my body feels great. I’m in probably the best shape I’ve been in my entire career. At this point, it’s about going out there and just putting everything together and just trying to continue to show that I’m healthy and I’m here to play this game at a high level.”

Cousins started the season with the Rockets before he was released as the team entered a rebuilding state since the James Harden blockbuster deal.

He made 23 appearances in Houston, after missing the 2019-2020 season due to injuries. He played his first game since Feb. 17.

Cousins is expected to provide much-needed depth in the center position for the Clippers with Serge Ibaka still out with a back injury.
