Point guard Isaiah Thomas has declared his body is in the best shape it’s been since he got injured, also claiming he’s 102 percent ahead of his debut with the New Orleans Pelicans. Thomas has been brought back to the NBA on a 10-day contract, following a 14-month hiatus from the league.

The diminutive star played two games for Team USA back in February, something which likely set the stage for his return. And, speaking ahead of what he hopes will be a quick introduction to 2021 NBA basketball, Thomas let reporters in on how he’s feeling as his comeback draws nearer.

“I’m 102%. I’m more than good,” he said, per ESPN. “This is the best I ever felt since before I got injured. It’s not even a question no more. Every day I wake up with a smile on my face because honestly I never thought I would feel this good again and feel back to normal. Physically I’m ready. Mentally I’m ready. And I’m just happy to really be here.”

Thomas last played for the Washington Wizards, averaging 12.2 points and 3.7 assists a game in 40 outings for the Eastern Conference side during the 2019/20 season. He was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers last February before being waived two days later.
