Thunder release Justin Jackson

The Oklahoma City Thunder have waived forward Justin Jackson, the team announced.

Jackson played in 33 games this season, averaging 7.2 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game in 16.5 minutes per game.

The 26-year-old’s playing time had been inconsistent, as he only played in eight out of 13 games since the All-Star break.

In those eight games, Jackson saw minutes in the 20s in only three of those games.

The Thunder will now have an open roster spot on their 15-man roster, along with one open two-way contract spot.

Jackson will become an unrestricted free agent once he clears waivers this week and will be able to sign with any team except the Dallas Mavericks who he previously played for.
