FC Barcelona clinched the first place in the EuroLeague standings, while Real Madrid came a step away from the playoffs, after the end of Round 33.
More specifically, FC Barcelona defeated Fenerbahce (20-13) on the road (73-82) and improved to 24-9. At the same time, Real Madrid rallied past Olympiacos (15-18) at home (72-63) and now is at 19-14.
FC Barcelona has already advanced to the postseason and has secured the home-court advantage, also clinching the top spot in the standings.
For their part, Real is very close to qualifying for the playoffs and has to defeat Fenerbahce next week to avoid the eighth spot on the table.
