After a delay and thoughts about retirement, Lou Williams finally joined the Atlanta Hawks. He made his debut with a team that he previously played through 2012-2014 in the game against the San Antonio Spurs.

The reigning Sixth Man of the Year came off the bench to play 22 minutes and had 7 points, 2 rebounds and 5 assists, helping the Hawks win in overtime 134-129.

After the game, Williams’ new teammate Trae Young shared his thoughts on the veteran guard. “He’s a super humble dude,” Young said, per Sarah K. Spencer.

“All he cares about is winning and what he brings to the table is scoring and obviously passing, y’all saw what he was doing tonight. He can pass.”
