Nikola Jokic, James Harden named Players of the Month for March

Denver Nuggets’ Nikola Jokic and Brooklyn Nets’ James Harden have been named the Western and Eastern Conference Player of the Month, respectively, for March.

Both players have now won the award two times this season, as Jokic won in January, while Harden won in February.

Jokic joins Carmelo Anthony and Alex English as the only players in Nuggets franchise history to be honored as Player of the Month two or more times in their career.

The 26-year-old recorded four triple-doubles and had four games with 30+ points and 10+ rebounds.

Jokic averaged 27.1 points, 11.4 rebounds and 8.4 assists per game, while shooting 58.5 percent from the field and 43.9 percent from three-point, as the Nuggets went 11-3.

Harden is the first player to earn Player of the Month honors in each of his first two full months with a new team since the award’s inception in 1979-80.

He is also the first player in franchise history to earn Player of the Month honors in consecutive months.

The 31-year-old recorded six triple-doubles, second-most in the East, and a franchise-record for a month, as well as nine double-doubles, third-most in the East.

Harden averaged 27.9 points, 9.8 rebounds and 11.5 assists per game, while shooting 43.8 percent from the field, as the Nets went 11-1.
