Dallas Mavericks are looking to add a rim protector to their roster in the near future. According to several reports, the Mavericks had some interest in defensive bigs like Andre Drummond during the past months.

According to Marc Berman of the NY Post, Mitchell Robinson could be on Dallas’ radar if he becomes a free agent during the 2022 offseason.

The promising big, who might lose the rest of the season with a broken foot, has an option for next year in his rookie deal. However, according to Berman, Robinson will be an unrestricted free agent in next year’s offseason.

The 7-foot-1 center underwent surgery Monday on a fractured fifth metatarsal in his right foot. Prior to his foot injury, the center from Louisiana missed time due to a broken hand.

Robinson might finish this season having played 31 of 72 games with averages of 8.3 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks for the playoff-bound Knicks.
