Sports analyst Shannon Sharpe thinks that the Brooklyn Nets put together a team with three superstars, namely Kevin Durant, James Harden and Kyrie Irving, to have a better chance of defeating LeBron James.

According to him, the chances of Brooklyn beating the Lakers duo of James and Anthony Davis only with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving are not very good.

“Skip, I don’t know they’re necessarily scared, but I know they put these teams together to deal with LeBron James,” Sharpe said on UNDISPUTED. “Because they know two superstars versus two superstars the likelihood of you beating his team is not very good.”

Sharpe thinks that it wasn’t LeBron who started the superteam trend. Instead, according to him, it was the Boston Celtics back in 2008 when they added Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen next to Paul Pierce to defeat James, who was with the Cavaliers then. Sharpe also said the Lakers and the Celtics had superteams in the 80’s.
