Kyle Lowry reportedly preferred the Heat over Lakers, Sixers

Kyle Lowry was expected to be moved during the trade deadline, however the Toronto Raptors did not find a satisfying offer in their talks with other NBA teams.

The Lakers, the Heat and the Sixers were the favorites to trade for the veteran guard, however the negotiation did not end in the way that they wanted.

According to Kevin O’Connor of the Ringer, Lowry’s preferred destination was the Miami Heat due to his friendship with the team’s franchise cornerstone Jimmy Butler.

“League sources said if Lowry had been traded, his preference was the Heat because of his close friendship with Jimmy Butler.”

Instead of acquiring Lowry, who will be an unrestricted free agent this summer, Pat Riley made a trade for Victor Oladipo on a low price.
