The NBA has set dates for the 2021 draft, lottery and combine, according to Shams Charania.
The dates for the events are as follows:
- Draft combine: Monday June 21 – Sunday June 27
- Draft lottery: Tuesday June 22
- Draft: Thursday July 29
This year’s NBA playoffs are scheduled to go from May 22 – July 22, so the draft will be a week after the season concludes.
The deadline for an early entry player to apply for this year’s NBA draft is Sunday, May 30 at 11:59 p.m. ET., while the deadline for an early entry player to withdraw from the draft is Monday, July 19 at 5 p.m. ET, according to the league.
Last year, the draft and draft-related events were held virtually due to the coronavirus pandemic.
It’s still unknown what the NBA will decide to do this year and if they ultimately want to hold in-person events with participants and possibly fans coming from all around the country.
Additional information regarding the draft, lottery and combine, including a location for each event, will be announced as details are finalized.
