Boston Celtics are expected to be active in the buyout market, and Andre Drummond could be among the players the franchise could pursue, if the Cavs bought him out, per Bleacher Report’s Jake Fischer.

The Cleveland Cavaliers would like to trade Drummond, however his $27 million expiring contract seems to be a deterring factor in the trade market.

“ALONG WITH THE CELTICS, THE NEW YORK KNICKS, DALLAS MAVERICKS AND CHICAGO BULLS ARE KNOWN TO HAVE KICKED THE TIRES ON DRUMMOND, ACCORDING TO LEAGUE SOURCES, AND THE POSSIBILITY ALWAYS REMAINS THAT SOME TEAM WILL EMERGE AT THE ELEVENTH HOUR WITH THE DRAFT ASSET FOR WHICH THE CAVS HAVE BEEN HOLDING OUT.”

The Celtics are in dire need of help, as Drummond could star in a starting role for Brad Stevens’ team. However, the Lakers seem to reportedly be the most attractive destination for the veteran big, if he works on a buyout with Cleveland.

Drummond has posted 17.5 points and 13.5 rebounds per game for the Cavs this season over 25 contests, but he has not played since February 12th.
