Joel Embiid has been sidelined with a knee injury since March 12, and the Philadelphia 76ers are going to be cautious on his potential return.

According to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, the Sixers have no timetable for Embiid’s return as they expect to re-evaluate his injury at the end of the week.

“MVP candidate Joel Embiid is expected to be reevaluated at the end of the week for the bone bruise on his left knee. Embiid has been out since March 12.

There is no established return date for the Philadelphia 76ers All-Star. The organization will be extremely cautious and wait patiently until he’s back to MVP form physically and mentally, league sources told Yahoo Sports. The objective is to make sure he’s 100 percent ready to go for the playoffs, sources said.”

Before going down with a knee injury, Embiid was in the MVP race leading the Philadelphia 76ers to the top of the Eastern Conference.

Despite his absence, the Sixers continued to walk in the ‘winning path’ snatching five wins in the last six games thanks to Tobias Harris impressive play.

As long as the Sixers are keep winning, Embiid seems that he will take his time to fully recover as Philadelphia hopes for a deep playoff run this season.
