Raptors fine Pascal Siakam $50,000 for verbal exchange with Nick Nurse

Things are not going well in Toronto.

The Toronto Raptors fined forward Pascal Siakam $50,000 after directing several heated choice words toward head coach Nick Nurse after the loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on March 21, according to Shams Charania.

The incident occurred when the Raptors were leaving the floor following the 116-105 loss.

Frustrations are clearly rising for the Raptors who have now lost nine consecutive games and are currently 17-26, 11th in the Eastern Conference.

Their last two losses were to the sixth and third worst teams in the NBA, the Cavaliers and Houston Rockets, respectively.

The Raptors now have the longest losing streak in the NBA after their 18-point loss to the Rockets on March 22, which also ended the Rockets’ 20-game losing streak.

There are a lot of question marks around the Raptors, as it remains to be seen what they will do at the March 25 trade deadline, as players like Kyle Lowry and Norman Powell are drawing interest from multiple teams.

*UPDATE: A Raptors media spokesperson says the report isn’t true and that the matter is still being discussed internally.
