Derrick Rose has been sidelined since before the All-Star Game for the New York Knicks as part of the NBA’s health and safety protocols.

Rose has been monitored by the Knicks’ staff as he needs to pass a series of workouts to make sure it’s safe for him to play, per Marc Berman of NY Post.

“According to NBA sources, Rose is in the final stages before being cleared — needing to pass a series of workouts to make sure it’s safe for him to play.”

“Last week, Thibodeau said Rose was “feeling a lot better.”

This season’s unpredictability is at an all-time high amid a pandemic, and the same goes for coping with the virus, even for professional athletes. Rose had an excellent start in his Knicks’ career, after Detroit shipped him to New York.

The Knicks are 3-4 since Rose stopped playing prior to the All-Star Game. In his 10 games with the team, the Knicks are 7-3.

The star guard is averaging 12.5 points, 4.9 assists and 2.6 rebounds shooting 45.5-percent from deep through those 10 games with his new club.
