Liga Endesa round up (week 11)

It wasn’t the best of weeks for the Euroleague sides competing in the Liga Endesa as Real Madrid lost and Valencia were stunned by lowly Bruixa d’Or.

EUROLEAGUE WATCH

Basement side Bruixa d’Or shocked the league by beating Valencia 78-77 in Manresa. Ben Dewar led the winners with 20 points as a purposedly missed free throw from Zeljko Sakic made it unable for Valencia to get a valid shot off in time.

Nemanja Nedovic hit 20 points to lead Valencia, who drop to 6-5.

Real Madrid lost convincingly 89-79 away to Bilbao to fall to their second defeat of the season. Bilabo were in firm control throughout, leading for the majority of the second half by double digits as the Liga Endesa giants looked a shadow of what they can be.

Belgian Axel Herville led Bilbao with 17 points against his former club.

But it was joy for Barcelona, Laboral Kutxa and Unicaja Malaga as they all recorded wins.

Unicaja Malaga stay top of the table on a 10-1 record after they bested Seville 82-76 at home. Kostas Vasileiadis hit 24 points and a reasonably tightly contested game.

Barcelona were comfortable 90-67 winners over Zragoza. Tibor Pleiss led the winners with 15 points in a routine win.

And Laboral Kutxa edged Fuenlabrada 77-71 thanks to Fabien Causeur’s 15 points.

THE REST…

In a thrilling contest, Joventut Badalona needed overtime to see off Gipuzkoa 66-63. Goron Suton and Demond Mallet both hit 15 points for the winners.

Rio Monbus hung on to beat Estudiantes 60-59 in Santiago. The visitors had a chance to win it but Jaime Fernandez’s effort agonisingly missed on the buzzer.

Murcia won on the road as they overcame a stubborn Andorra side 74-68, and Gran Canaria were comfortable 79-64 victors over Tenerife.
