Lonzo Ball has experienced many ups and downs through his early NBA career, however he’s putting forth another solid season with the Pelicans.

Ball will be a restricted free agent next summer as he did not sign an early extension with the Pelicans earlier in the season.

Ball is expected to receive interest either in the trade market or the free agency, as he’s averaging 14.2 points, 5.5 assists, and 4.2 rebounds while shooting 38.9% from beyond the arc this season.

According to Marc Berman of NY Post, the Knicks ‘would be heavily on Ball’s radar as a restricted free agent.’ The Knicks are looking to add a more polished guard in their starting lineup.

ESPN’s cap analyst Bobby Marks told Berman that it’s high unlikely for the Pelicans to match an offer sheet that starts higher than $18 million.

The Knicks are on the verge of a breakthrough season, after consecutive disappointing years, where they were among the worst teams in the league.

This season, they are seventh in the Eastern Conference on a 20-20 record, after the latest loss to the Philadelphia 76ers Tuesday.
