Carmelo Anthony continues to show he deserves to be in the NBA, even though he spent several months without a team prior to last season.

The 36-year-old forward led the Portland Trail Blazers in scoring with 26 points helping his team defeat the Minnesota Timberwolves 125-121.

The ten-time All-Star also reached a milestone in this game. He overtook legendary Hakeem Olajuwon on the NBA’s all-time scoring list. Anthony moved to the 11th place with 26,955 points passing Olajuwon by nine points. The next player on the list is Elvin Hayes who has 27,313 points.

“I’m still here, I’m still playing, I’m still going, I’m still enjoying the game, I’m still happy.. that’s all that matters,” Melo said after the game. In his second season with the Blazers, he is averaging 14.1 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game.
