On the first game back from the All-Star break, you would expect players to be somewhat rusty and trying to get back into the groove of things. On Thursday night against the Boston Celtics, this was not the case for Nets guard, Kyrie Irving.

Against his former team, Irving went ballistic and scored a game-high FORTY points in route to a Nets victory. This was not the most interesting part of the night I might add, as Irving chopped it up with his former teammates post-game. This came as a surprise to many people, as they considered Irving to be cancerous towards the Celtics locker room during his 2-year span with the team.

“Big surprise to a lot of people. All that s— talking about me and all the relationships I have with every former teammate of mine,” Irving said.

On the other hand, Trail Blazers guard, Damian Lillard had high praise for Irving following his FORTY point performance against Boston. Stating, he has the “most beautiful game in history.” This is a very generous compliment, as there have been many great players in the history of the NBA prior to Irving.

In his second season with the Brooklyn Nets, Kyrie Irving is averaging 27.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 5.9 assists. The Nets currently sit second in the Eastern Conference and look to finish strong as the NBA playoffs are rounding the corner.
