Joel Embiid will miss two to three weeks of action for the Sixers due to a bone bruise on his left knee, according to ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne and Adrian Wojnarowski.

An MRI today has not revealed any structural damage to the knee, which Embiid hyperextended during the third quarter of the blowout victory against the Wizards Friday.

There is significant relief within the Sixers as the MRI has also not showed any damage to ACL and meniscus. Embiid was dominating the Wizards before leaving the game Friday.

He had 23 points, on 8-for-11 shooting, to go along with 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 blocks in the midst of the third quarter of the game.

During a dunk attempt, the center from Cameroon land awkwardly in his left foot, something that resulted in hyperextended his knee.

The Sixers are leading the East having the best record in the conference with Joel Embiid being among the favorites to win the MVP award this season.
