Kyrie Irving talks about his relationship with his former Celtics’ teammates

Kyrie Irving played against his former team Thursday leading the Nets to the win over the Celtics. After the end of the game, the Nets’ superstar talked about his relationship with his former Celtics teammates.

The All-Star guard spent plenty of time after the game embracing several of his former teammates and coaches before heading to the locker room.

“Big surprise, huh?” Irving said after the game. “To a lot of people? All that (expletive)-talking about me and all the relationships I have with every teammate of mine. I’m glad we get to see it every single game that I’ve got some great people out here.”

Irving’s relationship with his former teammates is still a hot topic among NBA fans after the All-Star point guard decided to back off from his commitment to re-sign with Boston three seasons ago.

“I’m looking forward to that, but games like this in the middle of the season where you go against guys that you’ve known well, it’s always a blessing. I’m always happy for those guys and I want to see them do well,” Irving said on his former teammates.

Irving put up 40 points, on 15-of-23 shooting, Thursday helping the Nets pull away in the fourth quarter to secure their 11th win in the last 12 games.

He also had eight rebounds, three assists and five makes on his eight three-point attempts.
