Warriors’ James Wiseman on missing COVID-19 testing: “I completely forgot”

James Wiseman played only in the fourth quarter in the Warriors’ blowout loss (104-130) vs. the Los Angeles Clippers Thursday.

That was a disciplinary move from head coach Steve Kerr, as the rookie big missed two days of COVID-19 testing, since the team returned to practices from All-Star Break.

“I make mistakes. I’m human. I completely forgot about the first two days of COVID testing. I just gotta make sure I’m disciplined … I made sure I apologized to coach,” Wiseman said after the game.

The former Memphis big had 14 points and 11 rebounds as he received minutes only during the fourth quarter, where the game was not on the line anymore as the Warriors lost to the Clippers.

The rookie has been through some ups and downs this season, however he’s averaging 11.8 points and 5.9 rebounds in just 20.5 minutes per game. He’s shooting 52 percent from the field and 39 percent from deep.
