Rockets looking for trade partners for P.J. Tucker

Houston Rockets’ P.J. Tucker was a healthy scratch against the Sacramento Kings as the team continues to discuss deals with several teams, according to ESPN’s Tim MacMahon and Adrian Wojnarowski.

Tucker remains frustrated that he hasn’t been moved to a contender and it’s unclear when Tucker will return to the lineup before the March 25 trade deadline.

Tucker, 35, is in the final year of his four-year contract.

The Rockets will look to move him this season so they can get some form of compensation in return, as opposed to losing Tucker in the offseason for nothing.

Given Tucker’s reported desire to be traded to a contender, it’s likely the Rockets move quickly to find a trade partner.

Tucker hasn’t won an NBA title in his career and likely wants to compete in the 2021 playoffs.

There was a recent report that suggested that several rival executives expect Tucker to eventually end up with the Philadelphia 76ers, whether in a buyout or a trade that lands the Rockets a second-round pick.
