As the Lakers sit 3rd in the Western Conference heading into the second half of the season, LeBron James says the All-Star break was much needed for him and his team “mentally, physically, and spiritually.” He added it was “great to just getaway.”

James says he believes that he and the Lakers are capable of playing better basketball and adds that that’s exactly what needs to happen in order for them to repeat as champions. When at full strength, he says that the Lakers can “compete with anyone in the world.”

In the back half of the season, the Los Angeles Lakers will have eight back-to-backs in the 35 games, but James says that changes nothing and that “it’s go time” for him. Rest is not an option for LeBron, as he says that this is the time of the year where you prepare for the postseason. To cope with the lengthy schedule of the NBA, James says it’s essential that he invests in his mental, and physical health to give his team the best chance at success.

LeBron and company will need to be on their P’s and Q’s as they still remain without superstar Anthony Davis. Head coach Frank Vogel says Anthony Davis won’t play tomorrow vs. Indiana and will be reevaluated tomorrow night by the team’s doctors. The Lakers will have an update on Davis’ status tomorrow.
